Anna (age 20-Congolese) and Maaike (age 17-Canadian) are two friends working together to translate, prepare lessons, and lead an unique, Congolese form of Bright Lights (a discipleship group for girls written by Sarah Mally). It’s called ‘Bana Basi ya Kopela’ which means ‘Girls that shine’ in the language Lingala. Bana Basi ya Kopela (we like to abbreviate it to BBP) is for girls age 12-20.
Both of our families constantly make sacrifices and encourage us, while Maaike’s two younger sisters (Joanna, 15 and Michelle, 11) give invaluable help, support, smiles, and fresh ideas in many different areas. An absolutely crucial part of our team are the many dedicated people who are praying, because OUR GOD ANSWERS PRAYER! We have seen this over and over and we know that we will keep seeing His hand as we pray! The purpose for this blog is to give pictures, specific prayer requests, and records of God’s faithfulness and goodness to equip you to join the BBP team through prayer.

It’s so great to hear how you are stepping out in faith to be used of the Lord! May the Lord’s Spirit work through you and lead you as you walk by faith.

Your grandmother, Corrie, told me about your blog, and I’m so glad she did! What a delight!
Happy witnessing,

God Bless you girls in your ministry. What you are doing now is the most important work you will ever do; encouraging people towards Christ.
